Lesson · Points and distance in space

In space we add a third axis, the zz-axis, so every point has three coordinates (x,y,z)(x, y, z). Think of xx and yy as directions along the floor and zz as height.

A point with one coordinate equal to 00 sits flat in a coordinate plane. For example, every point with z=0z = 0 lies in the xyxy-plane (the floor).

Which coordinate plane contains the point (−3,0,−1)(-3, 0, -1)?
